Radiesse is a safe, FDA-approved dermal filler that restores facial volume for the natural, youthful look you want. This convenient treatment can correct smile lines, nasolabial folds and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. Radiesse is made of unique calcium-based microspheres suspended in a natural gel that is injected into the skin through a simple, safe and minimally invasive procedure.

How does Radiesse work?

Once injected, Radiesse immediately adds fullness to your face giving you visible results after the first treatment session. Radiesse works with your body, below the skin's surface, to fill moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Tiny calcium-based microspheres form a “scaffold” to support and stimulate the growth of your own collagen. Over time, the calcium-based microspheres gradually break down and are safely and naturally absorbed by your body.

What can I expect after treatment?

Immediately following a treatment session with Radiesse, redness, bruising or swelling may occur in the treatment area. These signs usually go away in a short period and are generally mild in nature. A cold gel pack may be applied to the treated area to help reduce swelling. You may be able to feel the area where Radiesse was injected for some period after injection. Over time, the injected area will feel more and more like your own tissue.

What should I avoid doing after treatment?

For the first 24 hours after treatment, you are advised to avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area. Do not apply makeup, and avoid extensive sun or heat exposure.

How soon can I expect results, and how long will they last?

The results are immediate. Although treatment effects will differ for each person, Radiesse lasts a year or more in many patients.

Is Radiesse safe?

Yes. Hundreds of thousands of patients have experienced Radiesse and more than 4,000 physicians worldwide have been trained to provide Radiesse treatments. Through years of clinical studies and independent research, Radiesse has proven to be safe and effective. With Radiesse, you get FDA-approved, safe, clinically tested reliability.

How is a Radiesse treatment performed?

Radiesse is injected in small amounts into the skin using an ultra-fine needle. For under eye areas, it can be administered intra-orally. The procedure is performed by our physicians in our medical suite with the use of a local anesthetic or dental block for your comfort.

How many treatments will I need?

Many patients achieve their desired result after just one visit. The number of syringes required for optimal results will be determined by the physician during your consultation. To ensure your satisfaction, our physicians may schedule a follow-up visit where a touch-up treatment may be recommended.

Are there any side effects?

Normal, injection-related reactions, such as mild irritation, swelling, itching, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site may occur. These conditions typically resolve on their own. Report any side effects you may experience to your physician.

Is Radiesse Permanent?

Treatment results are long-lasting, but not permanent. The calcium-based microspheres gradually break down and are safely and naturally absorbed by your body.

What should I do prior to treatment?

No pretesting is required, but you should take a few precautions before being treated. Avoid using aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John's Wort, or high doses of Vitamin E supplements prior to treatment, because these may increase bruising or bleeding at the injections site. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, discuss this with your physician who may prescribe a medication to minimize recurrence.
